Vegetarian Cooking For Meat Lovers

Cooking at home is very common nowadays, but one problem you may find yourself faced with is cooking for vegetarians. However, a bigger problem is often cooking for meat eaters if you are a vegetarian or will be eating with one.

Meat eaters are all too quick to criticize vegetarians, especially if their presence means that the meat eater misses out on a hearty meaty meal. However, there is no reason why vegetarian food can’t be appetizing to carnivores as well! Here are some great tips to make sure the next time you make cook at home, everyone is happy.

Meat Substitutes: Yes or No?

Many people in this situation will immediately turn to meat substitutes such as tofu or Quorn. This can work out, but in general it is not the best idea. Attempting to substitute meat will only draw unfair comparisons, and it’s one that tofu and the like just can’t win. Instead, try something different, though full of flavor, that is also sure to fill people up. Food like aubergines can be breaded and fried, while filled with delicious morsels like melted cheese and roast peppers. Cheese such as halloumi is also perfect in this situation, as the texture and flavor will make anyone forget about meat.

Vegetarian Flavor Instead Of Meat Overload

Because vegetarian food lacks meat, it often has to rely on richer flavors to satisfy the diner. Use this to keep everyone happy and unaware of the lack of meat! Indian cuisine is famously vegetarian and very intense flavor-wise. Something a little classier than a take away curry will be required, but if you’re willing to put in the work, there’s no reason why anyone should complain!
